This is what we call our spring celebration. Egg hunts and dying eggs and eating spring candy. I love this picture of Taivan. He is in typical fashion, meaning no shoes. I can barely keep shoes on this boy, and thankfully so far it hasn’t been a big deal. He wasn’t very excited about picking up eggs that had been scattered all over the grass. I think that is because he didn’t know the eggs were stuffed with candy.
Tommy went to town though. He knew exactly what was going on and wanted as many eggs as possible.
This is Tommy showing Taivan how to hurry and pick up as many eggs as he could.
Our yearly dying of eggs tradition. Always fun. Can’t you smell the vinegar and boiled eggs?
A few samples of the creativity.
Tommy showcasing his egg and facial expressions.
Taivan’s sweet squinty-eyed smile. He ended up putting lots of eggs in the dye when we weren’t looking.
So Matthew took the pictures so there are none of him. I think he is needing a little more sophistication added to his egg dying next year. Lucy loves the simplicity of it and is also learning from Jenny.
Jenny takes any creative outlet and takes it to the limit.
So I think I mentioned we had all been sick. Because of the sickness our celebrations didn’t include a lot of candy, but all for the best.Somehow we were able to fit in all of our usual traditions. Spring celebration meal with hamburgers on the grill and lemonade. Dying eggs. And Easter is the best.
The following picture was taken before 7:00 in the evening that week after everyone had been sick. Both little boys crawled up to snuggle with Dad and and a couple minutes later they were both fast asleep for the night.
