Growing up with a wood stove to heat our house, I have very fond memories of “going wooding” every fall (and into the winter sometimes it seemed). So when Tom told me that the Elder’s Quorum in our ward asked for volunteers to help split 40 cords of wood, I told him it sounded like fun to me. This was a couple of Saturdays ago approximately. I’m a little slow posing these pictures. Here is Matthew helping out. I didn’t get any pictures of Tom running one of the hydraulic split machines (I think there were at least four going for four hours straight).

Here I am chasing after Lucy. She is a little curious one who likes to explore her surroundings.
The only picture I got of Tom was him taking a break to get a drink of water. It was a project but with as many people that showed up, the wood was all split in about four hours. The kids had a lot of fun playing with the other kids that were there and helping move the wood that was split. Afterward, we had a barbeque potluck lunch. It definitely was a lot of fun, but nothing really like my days of “wooding.”
