This post is for the little people in my life.
I honestly don’t know how to describe the feelings that come with motherhood. I’m sure any of you that are mothers can relate.
I love waking up in the morning to Lucy yelling for me to come and get her out of bed. And the first thing she says when I go in her room is “Hi, Mamma.” She definitely is a little sunshine.
I love that Jenny will randomly say something hilarious to get her brother to laugh. “Matthew if you don’t _____ (can’t remember what she said here) I will ground you for a year and a half.” Not sure where she got this. We are not really the grounding type. But Matthew thought it was funniest thing ever. This little girl adds so much spark to our lives.
I love that Matthew is all about his family. At his last parent-teacher conference I was privileged to read one of his journal entries. Each of the students was given two conversation hearts and then were asked to make a sentence out of each. Matthew was given “I love you.” and “All mine” The two sentences he made were “I love you, Dad.” and “My little sister Lucy is all mine.” Can’t tell what is on his mind, huh?
Speaking of parent-teacher conferences and report cards, it is so relieving to hear such good reports from my children’s teachers. This last trimester both Matthew and Jenny received high-flying marks and raving reviews from their teachers. We are very proud of them. 🙂
And all three of my children let me know every day how much they love me. I know that probably won’t last. But until then I will enjoy and relish every hug, every “I love you, Mommy,” and every “Mamma” that comes with a little snuggle.
My life would not be complete if I weren’t a mother. And another thing, I love that Tom wants me to stay home with our kids. Thanks, Hon, for making it possible for me to stay home. I love my little family and I love my life!
