When the kids go to bed, they like the door open (they need the light to keep the monsters away). The problem with having the door open is Ginger likes to go in and lick their faces while they are trying to sleep. Matthew came up with this brilliant idea to keep her out. She is afraid of the squirt bottle and we don’t even have to squirt her, we just hold up the squirt bottle and she backs off. So this works nicely. She won’t even come close to the doorway. Tom showed me this the other night when I came home from a girls’ night out and I had to laugh and take a picture.

We do love you, Ginger. We just need some space when we are trying to sleep. (I’m sure if her intelligence were such that she could relate, she would because I don’t know how many times Lucy has woken Ginger up from a nap giving her a hug. I’ll have to get some footage of it and share.)
