Since we have moved to our new house, Ginger has moved in with us. We have had mixed emotions about it at times, but as the days progress, we are so happy to have her in the house with us. She has calmed down a lot and enjoys our company so much. She still finds odd, household objects to chew on (mechanical pencil, water bottle, Nintendo controller, Tom’s slippers to name a few), but she has done much better than I expected and is learning her boundaries fast. Faster than Lucy, I might add. Ginger at least listens when we tell her no. Lucy, on the other hand. . .well that is another post. If she chews on something, it is because we left it down for her to chew on. I feel like she is a lot like a kid who needs boundaries, but also tests them. She is still learning and she adds a lot of love to our home. I wanted to post a couple of videos, but I don’t have the right program on the computer to do so right now. So wait for some footage of Ginger. I love this picture of Ginger and Tom. I guess this just shows how much things have changed in our family’s relationship with Ginger and it has only been a couple of weeks since we brought her in the house. I definitely see a different side to Ginger than I ever saw when she was out in the yard. She is gentle and pretty laid back and is so good with the kids. She can still get pretty excited, especially when it comes to Matthew. I guess she knows that Matthew is a boy and that he loves her a lot–AND that he is the greatest reason we have a dog. She also gets a little excited when new people come to visit. And sometimes this excitement makes her forget her boundaries. That is something we are working on, huh Ginger. I have to say, my dream of owning a dog that is a big part of our family, that we can be with and take care of and love, that isn’t a menace, is coming true and I love it. Good girl, Ginger. I’m glad you are a bigger part of our family now.
