Over this past week we had the privilege of traveling to Utah to meet up with a bunch of family at, you guessed it, a family reunion. My dad’s side of the family has been having reunions every year for as long as I can remember. I have some of the greatest memories from these reunions and some great relationships with cousins because of the few days (or more) we spent together at these most cherished reunions.
This year we met at a phenomenal cabin in the mountains. It was amazing! Beautiful scenery, no cell phone or internet coverage to interrupt our time together (some may not have appreciated this 🙂 ), plenty of room for everyone, and so much to do! There was an indoor basketball/volleyball court, air hockey, billiards, ping pong, an indoor playground with slides and monkey bars, I think I counted four or five separate rooms with couches where people could congregate, a pond with fish and swans, and well, the list could go on. It was a very nice facility.
I think we had somewhere in the range of 90 to 100 people that showed up. Not all were able to stay the whole time, but it sure was great to see so many people and at the very least mingle with each other. I can’t really explain why these reunions are so important to me except to say that when we all meet together I feel of everyone’s love and support so much more. I know that we are all on the same team, with many of the same goals and we have a common heritage that adds strength to our cause as we leave the reunion and head out in the many directions of our lives.
We were all able to go this year, Tom included. And for the most part we had a very good time. 🙂 The following pictures aren’t the greatest, but oh well.

Jenny spent all of her time following around my youngest sisters, Hannah and Mary. And it looks like from this picture, she was begging Mary to do something. 🙂
