We were very privileged to have some wonderful visitors for Easter and General Conference weekend. Tom’s sister Crystine and her family drove from Ogden to visit us for a couple of days and we had a great time. I didn’t get pictures of the whole clan while they were here, but I actually did pull out the camera and get some pictures. But let me tell the story first.
Crys and Wes and their family left around 5 a.m. the Friday before Easter from Ogden. When they left, the interstate was closed. They were just hoping that they would open up the part that was closed before they reached it. When we found out on this side, Matthew and Jenny, who were both very ecstatic for their cousins to come and visit, said that we should say a prayer for them. So we did. Little did I know, but Matthew said many prayers that morning, praying that “Aunt Crystine and her family would get here safely and that the roads would open soon.” Well our prayers were heard and the roads opened a few minutes before they reached the gate where they were closed. Sometime that morning Matthew came out of Lucy’s room where they were playing together and told me that he had just knelt down and said a prayer again for them and right after he did it Lucy knelt down, folded her little arms and said her own version of a prayer. What a sweet example Matthew was and he didn’t even know it!
While the Riches were here, we enjoyed the warmth of the indoors. I think where we live, April comes in like a lion. Tom finished a project which I will post about hopefully in less than a week when I post about the project that I am finishing. We really enjoyed watching and listening to General Conference and sharing our family traditions.
Enjoying the spring chicks that Crys and her family were “chick sitting.”
Played really hard with cousins! I wish I would have gotten a picture of Matthew and his cousin James together. They were trying to figure out any way for James to stay here for another week or month or the summer. 🙂
Dyed and decorated eggs and had a fun hunt for the little kids.
We did so many other fun things that I don’t have pictures of like trips to Home Depot and Walmart and Safeway and cleaning up dry pinto beans that were used for bingo. We also stayed up way too late talking, ate way too much good food and candy and just had a wonderful time together. Thanks again for coming, Riches! We had so much fun and can’t wait to see you in a few weeks!
