I still haven’t posted anything from my sister Beck’s wedding (June 20), but I will get to that as time permits. I just wanted to write down a couple of funny things the kids have been doing/saying lately.

We have many mosquitoes here in Laramie and it never fails that Matthew and Jenny wake up with a few new bites every morning. I need to be better about spraying them with mosquito repellent before they go to bed. Anyway, yesterday in Jenny’s breakfast blessing she said, “Bless that the mosquitoes will all go up on our roof and sting the shingles instead of our skin.” Don’t ask me where she came up with that idea. But I had a hard time making it through the prayer without laughing out loud. I remember last year when we were lighting firecrackers for the fourth Jenny’s famous mosquito saying was, “Mosquitoes hate, hate smoke, but they love, love your blood.” I guess scratching the unbearable itch makes her think about mosquitoes a lot.

Also, we were having a little conversation in the car about how cute Lucy is. Matthew then told Jenny that she was cute, but not as cute as Lucy. Jenny of course did not agree. Matthew promptly changed the subject slightly by saying, “I have a secret, so don’t tell (I guess I’m betraying his confidence here. I just know the reason he wants to keep it secret is because of what his dad’s reaction might be.) anyone. I think Dad is kinda cute, too. Sort of.” Jenny then piped up to protect her dad. “No, Dad’s not cute. He is just crazy and funny. He is also a genius. Because he wears jeans.” 🙂 I would agree that Tom is a genius, but it has nothing to do with jeans. That was a nice play on words though, Jenny Wren.

Lucy has recently started dancing.

This little girl just cracks me up. I find that when she is taking her naps during the day, I just can’t wait for her to wake up. She is really taking to table food lately and gets very excited when she sees what she recognizes as food. She also love every baby, including and especially herself in the mirror. She loves baby cousins (Baby Zachary & Baby Isaiah), pictures of babies, and even toddlers that were babies not very long ago.
