This little girl was so incredibly excited for her birthday. She had been counting down for months. Her excitement, of course, rubs off on everyone. This year we ended up spending her birthday in Billings with Grandma and Grandpa Loveland and Aunt Jenn and Sam. Lucy requested crepes with strawberries, scrambled eggs, and bacon for her birthday dinner. As she says it, “I LOVE breakfast dinner!”
And more excitement with every gift and card opened.
She also got to spend some special time with Great-grandma Blank on her birthday.
There are so many things we love about Lucy. She is our little light. She is always the first to give a compliment and with her, everything is completely sincere. It is so rewarding to be her mother, or someone she loves (which is many people). She tells me many times a week how happy she is that I am her mother. “Oh, Mom. You are the best Mom in whole world! I just love you so much!” She also loves to share and is being a wonderful example to her little brother. She loves to dance and sing. She and I have been doing our own preschool at home this year. She asked me a couple of weeks before her birthday if I would teach her to read. I knew she knew all of her letters and their sounds, but she amazed me at how well she began to sound out letters. Desire can go a long way in motivating a person and with Lucy this is very true. I cannot say enough about the sweet and happy spirit of this little girl and how much happiness she brings to all of our lives.
