You may be getting sick of seeing Lucy and all the recent videos I have posted. I’m not going to apologize, however. Lucy’s new favorite thing is raisins and popcorn. Oh, what an amazing thing molars are! She can chew things so much better. And I don’t know if teeth help with talk, per say, but she is saying at least three new words a day now. Hard to keep up with. Yesterday in church while we were trying to keep her entertained and quiet, she was looking at one of her favorite books, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and for the first time I had heard it, she said butterfly. Over and over again. It sounded more like buh-er-fwy, but so cute. I think it is funny how when they finally figure out a saying or a word, they say it a hundred times. Maybe that is part of making new pathways in the brain. She was doing the same thing the other morning on the way home from dropping Daddy off for work. She kept saying, “I luh you. I luh you. I luh you.” And another one of her newest, “Help me.” She says this when she is trying to do something that she can’t quite do and she is frustrated, like putting her books away, or eating with a spoon.
And finally. Yes, I am almost done. Her hair is growing, slowly. It is very curly in the back, which I don’t have a picture of yet. This picture is of her first pony tail. So little hair and so much elastic. I think I will wait a while before I try this again. And I have something else to say. Lucy likes me to brush her hair, but not FIX it. Someone said if you start fixing their hair when they are young, then you won’t have to fight them to fix their hair when they get older. Well, what about if they don’t have enough hair to fix when they are younger. Hmm. . .
