Lucy LOVES doing puzzles. Here is one she wanted me to document. She makes what she calls a puzzle museum. I will have to post a picture of her “puzzle museum.”
One of the ways the girls spent their time together over Christmas break. I love how Lucy is dressed up so fancy! My two princesses are growing up. The oldest princess doesn’t adore dresses like she once did (when she was Lucy’s age, she would wear nothing BUT dresses). But she is starting to want to look pretty again and lets me curl her hair sometimes, or paint her toenails. Lately these two girls’ relationship has really blossomed. There is over a four-year gap between them and although they have always loved each other, they are starting to really be close. Jenny has started to put Lucy to bed every night and Lucy has started to prefer Jenny to Mom or Dad because Jenny tells such good stories. Jenny is going to be a wonderful mother someday. Her creative mind blows me away.
Speaking of creative minds. . . Tommy has really taken a liking to play dough. Oh, how I love this age! Everything this kid does is precious and I want to just bottle it up for when he is as old as Matthew. I guess that is what pictures and videos are for.
Daddy taking some of that precious time to read to these two kids who cannot get enough books or stories read to them. And I have to say, this is a rare view of my living room floor. Normally it is strewn with books and toys, dirty socks, and maybe a couple of shoes. So enjoy the view .
It was c-c-cold over Christmas but we did manage to get outside to play in the snow (while it was still snowing). We have a hard time with cabin fever in this family. I think I must have passed it onto the kids.
This is a picture of what I found Tommy doing right before we left for the weekend. If you can’t tell, he filled the cat dishes with kitty litter and the litter was needing cleaned out. I had to laugh because he thought he was really helping and was super proud of himself. When I found him, he said to me with a big smile on his face, “Kitties, hungry!” Too bad the cats won’t eat what he thought was food. Since then, every time he and Lucy go to feed the cats, Lucy emphasizes where the cat food is and how yucky the litter box is.
Another sister bonding time. Jenny is reading Runaway Ralph to Lucy.
Finally, a snowman! Lucy has been praying for snow and not just any kind of snow. The wet kind so we could build a snowman. We haven’t gotten that kind so far this winter, but thankfully we had some warmer days when the snow was melted a little and sticky enough to build this little beauty that Lucy name Flower. She did turn out pretty cute and we had lot of fun building her.
Lucy with her “friend” Flower. Gotta love the look on her face.
This was a very fun afternoon with my girls. So glad we got pictures to document it.
We have been trying to come up with different indoor activities that are super fun to fill up the winter cold months. This one was a blast and took up a whole afternoon. Most of my ideas I have found on Pinterest. This one was as simple as 1/4 cup of Dawn mixed with a cup of water then wrung out using a dish cloth onto the table. The kids are just blowing air into the liquid with straws. Lucy had fun but couldn’t get the right angle on the straw so she watched and played with the bubbles I blew. And Tommy watched once he woke up from his nap. We have also done a few more things recently that I wish I would have taken pictures of. We made cloud dough (cornstarch and oil mixed together). I will have to write a separate entry for this one it turned out so crazy. And we also made slime or gack with Elmer’s glue, water and Borax. Trying to have a lot of fun with simple things.
