Where do I begin? Tommy has been in our family now for seven years. He is the sweetest, most imaginative, curious, bright, vibrant, focused, intelligent boy. Here he is loving Toby, our new adopted dog.
A boy and his dog.
He loves his siblings, and he loves learning. Everything. He doesn’t have just one favorite subject. He takes turns loving them all. He will spend hours making a book about creatures in his imaginary land, the Tommy Forest. Or he will lose track of time playing “games” of imagination with Taivan and Lucy. He will study the flags of the countries of the world and then draw them from memory. He taps away at the piano, composing a song via Musescore. He will complete two chapters of math in a couple of days. He knows more about most animals than I do. He can remember almost anything.
He is great at working with his hands. He loves to take apart old electronics to figure out how they work. He can paint and draw and color with incredible detail from his mind. He loves to build things, especially with legos. He is a creator. If he is making something, a list, a drawing, a book, a board game, a costume, anything, he is happy.
He is very lovable. And he loves being loved. He values quality time very much and reminds me to spend time with him. When he is upset, a hug will make everything okay. He also loves and empathizes deeply. Many times when other kids have been sad, he will see their sadness and comfort them from his own empathy.
He is funny. I wish I could put more examples of Tommy’s homemade videos here. He should make his own YouTube channel.
